Dads’ Day like no other

It was a Father’s Day celebration like no other when the JRAM Edmonton West dads traded their usual office uniforms and regular church ensembles for casual shirts, jeans, and rubber shoes!
Last June 16, 2018, the JRAM EW families trooped to the Laurier Park for this year’s “Palarong Pantatay” (Sports Fest for Fathers)! Twenty-seven fathers showed up in the event. Grouped into four, they actively participated in various challenging activities. It was a blast watching them engage in competitive contests such as tug-of-war, relay, jumping jacks, discus throw, among many other games.
Everyone who came got the chance to choose and root for their favorite teams. Families rallied after their dads, making the shared experience truly memorable for all.
The sight of the fathers giving their all for their respective teams was a beautiful lesson in selflessness, commitment, cooperation, and brotherhood. It was like watching one powerful quotation come to life: “Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example instead of his advice.”
More than the laughers and the cheers, it was the overjoyed JRAM EW households that made this year’s Father’s Day celebration remarkable – not only for the dads, but for the whole family as well! – Ninfa Gonzales
