Glowing at Rustic River Camp

Glowing at Rustic River Camp
More than a hundred members and families of God’s Light of the World (G.L.O.W.) Pastoral Care Group enjoyed a fun-filled and exciting camping adventures at Rustic River Resort in Alberta, Canada on August 3 to 6, 2019. It was a four-day, fun-day like no other!
Everyone was already pumped up their day started with an energizing Zumba session in the morning, followed by a quick tour around the resort. Team building activities followed in the afternoon, bringing out the amazing unity and harmony among G.L.O.W. members.
While activities kept everyone preoccupied, especially the nightly s’mores roasting by the children, it was the special moments of prayer, praise, and fellowship that made the camp memorable for everyone.
Day two happened to be a Sunday, a Son-day, an opportunity to gather together as a church family in an intimate worship service. Led by Pastor Joal Abada, GLOW members heartfully worshiped the Lord and listened to the Word of God. After feasting on the Bread of Life, they afterward feasted on a sumptuous lunch. Everyone brought something on to the table for everyone to enjoy. Filipino snacks like fishball and turon were a big hit, as usual.
The entire four days and three nights of fellowship undoubtedly fostered a stronger bond among GLOW members. To belong and to be loved are integral in keeping the community firmly held together. With the annual GLOW camp, members get to experience camaraderie beyond the confines of the church. And it is because of these real-life encounters and exchanges that they keep looking forward to the next family camp.
