When Pastor Joal was in his early teens, his mom diligently wrote him letters from abroad peppered with Bible verses. However, the Bible only made sense to him when he came to Canada from the Philippines and was reunited with his mom in 1999; he was 18 years old.
He started serving the Lord in the music ministry and the youth ministry, in which he was also given opportunities to lead. Nineteen years later, he now serves as associate pastor at the Jesus Rock of Ages Ministries in Edmonton West.
His present ministries include pastoral care and small group, pulpit, worship, and prayer partners. Having attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, he is also into business by profession. Moreover, he is currently completing a Bachelor of Theology degree at the Pacific Life Bible College.
He met the love of his life, Dr. Abi, at church in 2000, and they married in 2008. Together, they have three precocious and energetic boys: 5-year-old Liam, 3-year-old Nolan, and 10-month-old Caden.
